The GT style stem from back in the 80's. Since the GT ones are not all that easy to come by these days this may be your way to score that last piece you need for your retro 80's build. Fits 1" threaded forks. It has a hollow expander bolt that allows you to run a brake cable thru it to set up your Gyro Rotor. This is a nice low cost stem that will get the job done on most old school bike builds.

 Features:

  • Fits 1" Threaded forks
  • Hollow expander bolt

Generic GT Style Hollow Bolt Quill Stem (Black) (1")
An excellent replica GT style 80's freestyle front load quill stem but since I wished there were more pictures and a more accurate description....
This is for 1" threaded forks using a 21.1mm diameter quill and 22.2mm handlebar clamp area! (It fit my 1980's General Sidekick scooter and early 90's GT Mach One for example.) Anything larger than a 21.1mm quill will require a shim.
Yes, the stem allows you to run the front brake cable for the "Pot's Mod" down through the quill wedge bolt and fork. What is not pictured is the top side, which has a threaded hole just behind the handlebar clamp area that is drilled all the way through and has a barrel adjuster already installed on top!! This allows you to use an old school ACS rotor with a single cable (not Odyssey Gyro style with 2 cables) for rear brake setup or for any front center pull brake without having an additional hanger/cable stop. If this is not your plan then you end up with a blank barrel adjuster or just holes down through the top of the stem.
Only cons are a short distance from the base of the stem to the minimum insertion point (2" or less) and not a super great black paint job. It's completely unbranded/unpackaged and was just loose in the box with other parts, lol.

P.S. You can get a replica "GT" logo for the front circle as a decal on the interwebs for a more clean look on your restoration and TSC hollow stem bolts totally work! ;)
