1. What got you in to BMX? Was there a certain rider, event, video, friend, etc that made you want to try BMX? Tell us a little bit of your story of how you got to this point.

Being 5 years old moving into a new house and in the field behind our house was dirt jumps. There were 2 brothers that raced BMX. They immediately took me in and built me a small dirt kicker and said “don’t stop peddling till you hit it” I did that and lawn-darted so stiff. Haha. Luckily I landed it and was forever hooked.

What are your proudest accomplishments or best memories made on a bike? This could be tricks learned, contest results, places traveled, etc.

My biggest accomplishment by far would be when I was in 3rd grade I took my BMX bike to school and told them I was going to be a BMX rider. It took 17 years but I got a message from Jon Dowker at Freestyle Connection and he offered for me to do some local BMX shows in my area. I said absolutely! The principal remembered who I was and in that gymnasium that day told all the kids to follow their dreams and one day you can accomplish what I have. That moment was a feeling I’ll never forget.

3. Why do you love BMX so much?

I love BMX because it’s a feeling like no other. When you don’t have much, when you’re a loner, when you feel down; it’s always there to bring you up. It makes you feel like you have worth in this world. The tricks as well as the style is so different in every way and that’s what drawls me to it. The sense of self acceptance and accomplishment.

4. Where’s the coolest or most memorable places you’ve ridden?

From fun BMX shows with Danny Harrison and Southern BMX Stunt Shows, to different schools in the mountains with crazy views, to sketchy dirty alley ways riding street, to some of the most fun backyard ramps and dirt jumps; I’d have to say a simple curb cut or a fun kicker ramp would be my favorite to ride simply because it represents BMX in its purest form.

5. What trick was the hardest for you to learn? And/or, what’s a trick that you can do but struggle with or simply don’t like?

Ahh I’d have to go with maybe the bar spin haha

6. Do you have any bucket list spots to ride or tricks to learn?

There’s been a lot over the years but I’d go with those tranny walls in Barcelona, would be sweet!
