What got you in to BMX? Was there a certain rider, event, video, friend, etc that made you want to try BMX? Tell us a little bit of your story of how you got to this point.
I was one of the lucky ones with a father who craved speed, fueled by his parents’ inability to understand how much bikes meant to him. They said no bikes. After his 18th birthday, my father pursued Moto GP racing and he was a local stud. 10 years later, he introduced me to this world and threw me on a Jr 50cc with training wheels at 18 months old.
We were weekend warriors. On our 3 acres of land in Brunswick, Ohio - where I grew up - he built my younger brother and I a supercross track. So we pursued the goal of qualifying for Loretta Lynns Amateur National Championship and placing nationally in 2009-2011. My brother and I both succeeded and ended up on the podium at Loretta’s.
In early 2012 our lives changed forever when our camper we used to sleep at the track every weekend burnt down to a crisp. With 2 propane tanks fueling the fire, nothing was salvageable. We were forced to say goodbye to motocross. We never knew our off season “training” sessions at Rays MTB Park would now become the time of year to look forward to. After all, we went there in the winter months to stay on 2 wheels during the unrideable season. Currently speaking, I have spent more time on a bike at Rays since the fire than in my own backyard track growing up.
What are your proudest accomplishments or best memories made on a bike? This could be tricks learned, contest results, places traveled, etc.
My best memories made on a BMX are from Riveter’s Red Bull Spring and Fall events where I landed my first flip whip last year (spring 2023) taking the cake, and also my first double flip (fall 2023) that I somehow landed first try. All while making friends that will last my lifetime.

Why do you love BMX so much?
My favorite part of BMX was always air time, and the speed coming into it and spotting my landing. Also meeting my best friends who share the passion of riding bikes.

Where’s the coolest or most memorable places you’ve ridden?
Most memorable places I’ve ridden is Catty Woods and Loretta Lynns Ranch. Catty because it is amazing what a tightly knit group of people can do. Loretta Lynns because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
What trick was the hardest for you to learn? And/or, what’s a trick that you can do but struggle with or simply don’t like?
Flairs have been a trick I have to be especially patient with. Those and barspins still feel like a coin toss whenever it comes time to snap one around - even after being confident about landing them

Do you have any bucket list spots to ride or tricks to learn?
A bucket list trip for me would 100% be Gorge Road Park in New Zealand. There are so many epic trail spots left to visit on my bucket list including La Poma bike park.
