Im a dedicated mountain biker. However; Something expanded in my brain; New thoughts; I went to the local park; I wanted to create my own world at that park; But my bikes were to big; I needed something more maneuverable. I looked a trials bicycles; Good idea; but not the target; Soon the Universe was talking to me; A thought came to me; What about a BMX Bike; Id never had one or ridden one before.
.
I studied; I went to Danscomp and began my research; I studied all the bikes; and videos and general reviews; But then I just let my feelings and the little kid in me decide; Pointed by the Universe; I knew I wanted a Green Bike. I love Green!
.
Soon; I ran into the DK Six Pack; I loved it from the start; As soon as I saw it; I knew; That was mine; My new BMX Bike.
.
BMX racing; I got this thought!
At the same time; I called a few numbers; And I talked to those who run the BmxUSA sanctioned races in my area; And well; Im now or will be an official BMX Racer; Ill start racing BMX In May. Im very excited!!
.
Review of the bike;
.
Its a Beautiful little bike; Gold Double wall’d rims; cool looking Green with black lettering; and a cool name; Its got all the Chromoly I need in the right places; The triangle of the frame; The cranks and the steer’r tube of the fork.
.
Im now practicing basic tricks in the parking lot.. Ive also ran it on the BMX track… Its opening up a whole new facet of Biking for me; Its wonderful….
.
What else can I say!;
I was at the store the other day. A couple of “ Cool” Older Teenagers came up to me; wearing their shades; They stopped; They looked at me and said; Hey; You wanna sell that that BMX Bike with a hopeful but serious smile on their faces; I laughed and said; “ No; I Just Got it”. Nothing could have been a greater compliment… They’d seen the bike around town and at my 12 step meetings…
.
A New Start;
Im starting out in Novice Bmx racing; So I don’t need a pure race bike yet; Im in the novice class; I can use my DK Street Six Pack.
.
However; For racing and my age at 63; I realized after running the track a few times; Altho the 20in six pack was solid as a rock; I needed a bigger biker to start with So; I simply bought another Green DK Six Pack; 24in Wheel; this time.
.
New parts;
Both my bikes are now outfitted with a new Kink Stealth seatpost and seat.. The 20in I use for street; The 24in Cruiser I use for Racing.
.
I couldn’t be Happier… Thanks Danscomp for all your help!
