Step 3: Wheel Size
Dirt Jump / Slopestyle bikes use a standard wheel size of 26”. Specialized introduced a 27.5” wheel dirt jump bike, ideal for regular 29” mountain bike riders that feel 26” is a bit too small compared to what they’re used to.
Smaller wheel sizes, such as 20” and 24”, are available for smaller riders. These are ideal for smaller riders looking to hit jumps that aren’t quite groomed for a BMX bike.
26" Wheels
Standard DJ / Slopestyle wheel size. This is where most DJ bikes live.
27.5" Wheels
Unique to Specialized Bikes. Ideal for regular 29" MTB riders that feel too out of place on a 26" wheel.
24" Wheels
Intended for riders in the ballpark of 4'3" to 5' tall.
20" Wheels
Ideal for little rippers around 3'8" to 4'4".
