Step 3: Wheel Size
Selecting the proper wheel and toptube size is very crucial for freestyle and race bikes. Big bikes, however, is a bit more loose. There are several wheel size options, but generally speaking it is more of a matter of preference rather than precise fitment.
Choosing your wheel size is ultimately decided by your desired riding style. All of these are generally intended for adult riders, so it's just a matter of determining if you're looking for more of a cruiser or something a bit closer to a normal BMX bike.
24" Wheels
These bikes are certainly bigger and more comfortable to cruise around on than a 20" bike, but they are close enough to that to be able to ride skateparks and hit some jumps.
26" Wheels
Our 26" bike section includes slightly larger versions of the 24" bikes as well as dirt jumnp MTB bikes. These are very different bikes with different purposes simply grouped together by a common wheel size. DJ bikes are made for big jumps and tricks, while 26" freestyle bikes are generally intended for cruising in style.
27.5" Wheels
27.5" wheels aren't too common in our world. In the mountain bike world, 27.5 was designed with the idea that 26" wheels are a bit small and don't roll well enough while 29" are a bit large and un-nimble. The 'Bike Life' community saw the same issue and created some BMX/Bike Life 27.5" wheel options.
29" Wheels
29" wheels are the ultimate choice if you're looking for a comfortable, smooth rolling bike to cruise through town. This is the standard option of the Bike Life community, which is a riding style based around riding wheelies.
