Shimano Deore XT M8140 Flat Pedals (Black) (S/M)
Finally got around to upgrading the pedals on my 2013 Specialized Sirrus Pro. It's a great bike but it came with their generic nylon pedals which never did justice to the drivetrain.
The Shimano pedals offer a broader base and a much stiffer platform. I ride for conditioning, on a loop course on asphalt pavement, and switching to these pedals cut my elapsed time and increased my average speed. I switched to the short cleats because I don't ride off road.
Having said all that, the pedals are pricey.
