Rant Party On Axle Nuts (Pair) (Black) (14 x 1mm)

Recently got a new old stock Hoffman Lady Luck and have been finding various parts on it are cheap and problematic. One of those issues was the rear axle nuts and washers. Whenever I would tighten down the nuts the axle would move in the dropouts. Took a closer look at the hardware, and the nuts were atrocious, with the holes slightly off center and the nut flanges not even flat where they contacted the dropouts. These Rant nuts are very good and precisely formed and partly solved my issue, the full resolution occurred when I replaced the washers that go between the nuts and the dropouts, also.

These nuts are steel but have a very odd, chalky finish that I've never seen, before. They almost look like weathered plastic. Not sure how they'll hold up to water exposure and rusting at this point. Very nice looking and great price, though. Also like that they use a 17mm wrench like my front axle nuts, unlike the former ones that used 19mm.
